BSTA to perform towing of Singapore-flagged tanker TORM-SARA in Primorsk on August 5
On 5 August 2018, OOO Baltic Sea Tug Agency (BSTA) will perform escorting/mooring/unmooring operations with the TORM-SARA tanker (owned by TORM TANKERS A/S, flag of Singapore) at the port of Primorsk in the Leningrad Region, BSTA told IAA PortNews.
“Over the years of operation in the port of Ust-Luga BSTA has earned confidence and great reputation among large ship owners including foreign ones. TORM TANKERS, which is among our clients, has once again commissioned us for operations at the port of Primorsk”, said Artemiy Gorshkov, Commercial Deputy of BSTA Director General.
He reminded that in February 2018, Leningrad Administration of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia warned OOO Primorsk Trade Port (PTP) against antitrust violation and in July the court of arbitration ordered PTP to pay over RUB 2 million to BSTA for the rejection to provide the port’s free berths for mooring. “We hope that the incident is over and will be able to do our work without obstacles”, added Artemiy Gorshkov.
The company is going to involve at least two tugs to serve the oil product tanker which is 228 meters long and 32 meters wide.
OOO Baltic Sea Tug Agency is a ship owner and a towing and industrial ship operator that carries out its activities at the main Russian ports in the Gulf of Finland.
The company’s fleet consists of modern azimuth ice-class harbor tugs with a capacity of up to 5,200 hp, which are equipped with external fire-fighting equipment, can escort a convoy and can be used with large-capacity dry-cargo vessels and oil tankers. The company’s fleet also includes small tugs and industrial ships, which allow it to provide underwater engineering, dredging, marine survey and hydraulic engineering support services.
All vessels are equipped with emergency equipment and supplies and can be used for emergency and rescue activities in case of fire fighting or oil spill response operations.
