RZD Logistics and Fenix will develop transit cargo transportation via port Bronka (photo)
RZD Logistics JSC (RZDL), the largest multimodal logistics operator in CIS and Baltic states, and Fenix LLC, owner and operator of MSCC Bronka (Multipurpose Sea Cargo Complex Bronka, Big Port St. Petersburg), signed an agreement of cooperation in the development of transit cargo transportation by international transport corridor “East-West” with transshipment of containers via MSCC Bronka. Fenix says the document was signed at TransRussia/TransLogistica, the 23rd International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics Services and Technologies, by Eduard Alyrzayev, First Deputy to General Director of RZD Logistics JSC, and Aleksey Shukletsov, Executive Director of Fenix LLC.
The key activity under the cooperation agreement is the transshipment of containers transported from the northern and central China to Europe.
According to the statement, the logistic solution will let RZDL improve transit transportation by the East-West international corridor through reduction of cargo delivery time and the number of border crossings.
Aleksey Shukletsov says the new route running via MSCC Bronka will let diversify export/import routes from China to Europe as part of ‘One Belt. One Road' project.
“Infrastructure of MSCC Bronka meets the current requirements and is intended for handling a wide range of cargos. I am sure, that joint efforts will let us intensify transit transportation by a new logistic route and offer the consignors a high-quality multimodal service including a sea leg”, said Eduard Alyrzayev.
RZD Logistics JSC (RZDL) is one of the leading companies in the Russian market of forwarding services. Fenix LLC is the owner and operator of Multipurpose Sea Cargo Complex Bronka (MSCC Bronka), the only deepwater terminal at the port of Saint-Petersburg. MSCC Bronka specializes in transshipment of containers, Ro-Ro and general cargo as well as over-size and over-weight cargo.
The capacity of Bronka’s Phase 1 is 1.45 million TEUs and 130,000 units of Ro-Ro cargoes. In the future the MSCC Bronka expansion will help increase the facility's container throughput to 1.9 million TEUs and 260,000 Ro-Ro units.
