Tuapse Commercial Seaport to invest RUB 1.93 bln under development programme of 2018
Tuapse Commercial Seaport JSC (TCSP, part of UCL Holding) says it is going to allocate RUB 1.931 bln of its own funds for financing of the company’s investment programmes in 2018.
According to the statement, this year’s investment programme of Tuapse Commercial Seaport provides for “further development and implementation of promising investment projects aimed at increasing the company’s cargo turnover and maintenance of its production facilities”.
Expenses under the project on reconstruction of the grain terminal will total RUB 850 mln – the plan for 2018 covers the purchase of core process equipment as well as completion of design works and transition to construction. The project which is to be completed by 2021 is totally estimated at RUB 3.6 bln.
Apart from expanding the range of grain cargo and increasing the terminal’s throughput to 3 mln t the project foresees the development of the port’s railway infrastructure that will let TCSP increase its capacity in handling all types of dry cargo.
One more prospective line of TCSP development is the increase of ferrous metal transshipment. In 2018, TCSP will have two 50-tonne Vityaz cranes with a boom reach of up to 40 m built to the order of the company and purchase two 25-tonne forklift loaders. The new equipment will make it possible to transship slabs weighing up to 60 t from rail cars to vessels and to improve transshipment of steel coils weighing up to 32 t. In 2018, investments will make RUB 637 mln.
In 2018, the company will also have one more 40-tonne Vityaz crane with a boom reach of up to 32 m built under the long-term programme of technical upgrading. Besides, the fleet of port equipment will be expanded with two 2.5-tonne loaders and load gripping equipment. Investment in port equipment will total RUB 239.3 mln.
This year, RUB 35.9 mln will be allocated for maintenance of the existing production facilities and for further upgrading of emergency protection system in the oil handling area. Fitting the berths with automatic deberthing system will be the final phase of the 8-year programme ensuring environmentally friendly and safe handling of oil products.
The investment programme of 2018 also covers the maintenance of the Rо-Rо terminal capacity (RUB 54.7 mln) and purchase of auxiliary equipment for port security purposes (RUB 19.6 mln). Under the programme on energy saving and efficiency increase, TCSP is going to complete the construction of a gas pipeline and conversion of boiler stations to gas fuel. RUB 14 mln will be spent for those works in 2018.
Investments in other activities ensuring smooth and safe operation of the port, like environment protection, renovation of electric equipment, upgrading of port fleet’s rescue and communication facilities will total RUB 80.5 mln.
Tuapse Commercial Seaport JSC (TCSP) is the major terminal operator at the Port of Tuapse, one of Russia’s largest ports. TCSP is part of UCL Port, a stevedoring division of international transport group UCL Holding. UCL Port comprises Sea Port St. Petersburg OJSC, Container Terminal Saint Petersburg CJSC, Universal Handling Terminal LLC based in North-West of Russia, and Taganrog Commercial Sea Port in the South. In 2016, Tuapse Commercial Seaport handled 14.1 million tonnes of cargo. The fleet of TCSP’s cargo handling equipment numbers 27 portal cranes with capacity of 10 to 124 t, 65 loaders and bulldozers. In 2017, the company handled 14.1 mln t of cargo.
