Russian Railways invested RUB 3 bln in railway approaches to ports on Gulf of Finland's southern shore in 1H 2016
In the first half of 2016, Russian Railways invested nearly 3 billion roubles in the reconstruction of the rail stretch between Mga - Gatchina - Vaimarn - Ivangorod and the railway approaches to ports situated on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, the company said in a press release.
This year, Russian Railways plans to commission 28.2 km of station track and 122.7 km of track electrification. In addition, the Company will complete the construction of sound barriers at Mga, Kikerino and Vaimarn stations.
In 2016, Russian Railways will invest a total of 8 billion roubles to implement its project for the comprehensive reconstruction of the Mga - Gatchina - Vaimarn - Ivangorod stretch and railway approaches to the ports on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland
At the Luga-Sortirovochnaya station, it is planned to commission 4.2 km of receiving and departure tracks and 4 switching points in the departure yard, 12 sorting tracks and an additional connecting track with a flying junction on the stretch between Luga-Sortirovochnaya - Luga-Severnaya, as well as the electrification of 90 km of station tracks.
As part of the development of the port railway infrastructure, it is planned to commission the first main track from Luga-Sortirovochnaya to the Luga-Severnaya station and to Luga Neftyanaya station.
In addition, a number of measures are envisaged to electrify the stretch between Gatchina - Vaimarn - Luzhskaya and the stations belonging to the Luga railway hub, reconstruct the Kotlya station and commission the Vladimir traction substation with an external power supply line between Novolisino - Gatchina.
