Russian Railways' network loading up 3.4% to 641.8 million tonnes in 6M’18

In January-June 2018, the network of Russian Railways loaded 641.8 million tonnes of cargo, up 3.4%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.

In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 186.2 million tonnes (+5%, year-on-year); coke – 5.4 million tonnes (-3.2%); crude and oil products – 117.9 million tonnes (+0.1%); iron and manganese ore – 57 million tonnes (+4.4%); ferrous metal – 39.5 million tonnes (+12.2%); ferrous metal scrap – 6.9 million tonnes (-2.6%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 30.1 million tonnes (+5.8%); cement – 11.8 million tonnes (-5.2%); timber – 23.5 million tonnes (+2.7%); grain – 14.4 million tonnes (+55.3%); construction materials – 63 million tonnes (-3%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock  – 9.98 million tonnes (-2.3%); chemicals and soda – 13.4 million tonnes (+2.9%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials  – 17.5 million tonnes (-2.8%).

From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 1,280.6 billion tariff ton-km (+4.5%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run  – 1631.1 billion ton-km (+4.2%).

In June, loading totaled 107 million tonnes (+3.1%, year-on-year).

Freight turnover in June grew by 3%, year-on-year, to 208.9 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run  - 265.7 billion ton-km (+3.2%).
