Throughput of port HaminaKotka (Finland) up 9.5% to 14.66 mln t in 2017
In January-December 2017, the Port of HaminaKotka (Finland) handled 14.66 mln t of cargo (+9.5%, year-on-year). According to the port authorities, transshipment of export cargo climbed by 12.4% to 10.87 mln t including 2.66 mln t of paper (+1.6%), 1.56 mln t of cellulose (+0.4%), 2.04 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-2.9%) and 1.53 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+59.1%).
Transshipment of import cargo grew by 1.7% to 3.8 mln t including 1.13 mln t of general cargo (+9.6%), 771,960 t of dry bulk cargo (+24.5%) and 1.07 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-14.1%).
Transshipment of transit cargo grew by 23.5% to 3.63 mln t, inland traffic declined by 1.2% to 1.01 mln t.
Transshipment of containers climbed by 9.3% to 690,330 TEUs, ransshipment of Ro-Ro cargo fell by 3.1% to 14,473 units, automobiles – by 1.2% to 8,050 units.
The number of calls was nearly flat, year-on-year, at 2,568 calls.

Port of Kotka comprises ports of Mussalo, Hietanen, Kantasatama, berth Puolanlaituri (Polish berth), berth Halla, and also port premises Sunila. Port of Hamina is the eastern port of Finland located 35 km from the Russian border. In 2016, the port handled 13.4 mln t of cargo.
